4-H Clover Buds will host a movie night at Tyronza on Friday, February 1. Drop off will be at 6:30 pm on the side of the building facing the gas station. Pick up will be 9:00 pm. Cost of the movie is $5.00 and $2.00 for chips and a drink. Please, have your child bring a throw or blanket to sit on. We look forward to seeing everyone. All grades and both campuses are welcome.

Tyronza Elementary will hold all Halloween parties on Wednesday, October 31st at 2:00. Notes for individual classes will be coming home in your child's Monday folder. Pre K registration in Tyronza will be Thursday, April 19th from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. Children need to be 3 or 4 by August 1st. Required documentation is a legal birth certificate, social security card, proof of income (one month of check stubs or current year tax forms or a note from employer), current physical and a up to date shot record. Tyronza fifth grade students are selling Heritage Candles Magic Melts as a fundraiser. The plug-in warmer is $13 and individual wax melts are $4 each with ten scents to choose from. The EPC Archery Team has been invited to participate in an archery scrimmage at The Delta School in Wilson on April 28th. To prepare for the scrimmage, the team will practice on April 5th, 12th, and 26th at the Tyronza Gym from 5:30-7:30. Let’s Go Warriors!!
The last day at Tyronza to turn in Cap and Gown picture order forms is Wednesday, March 14th.
The Tyronza PTO will be hosting the Miss Spring Time Pageant on Sunday, April 22nd starting at 1:00 pm. Forms may be picked up in any office. Money and forms need to be turned in no later than April the 19th in the Tyronza office.
Tyronza Elementary will be selling Double Good popcorn. All proceeds will go to the PTO to help fund projects and buy supplies for the school. The top seller in kindergarten through third and fourth through sixth grade will receive a $25.00 Walmart card. The class who sells the most will win an ice cream party. All orders and money need to be turned into the office by March 9th. Also on Monday, March 5th we will be sending out entry forms to our upcoming pageant in April. The pageant is open to both campuses and the community. We will have several age divisions and lots of side awards. Thank you for supporting our school!
Book Fair family night will be held Tuesday, February 27th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on the Tyronza Campus. We hope you come out and enjoy all the books and snacks!

The Science Fair for 5th and 6th grades will be Tuesday, February 20th at Tyronza Elementary. The gym will be closed for judging during the school day, but will be open to the public 4:00-6:00. Awards will be announced at 5:00. We hope everyone will stop by and see the awesome research projects our students have completed!

Tyronza Elementary Parent Teacher conferences are scheduled for this Thursday, February 8th from 1:30-6:30. Students will attend school on Thursday but will be dismissed early. It’s a very busy time of year! Here are the event reminders for Tyronza Elementary for this week: Students will be able to shop at Santa’s Secret Workshop all week. Gifts range in price from $2.00 to $10.00. Our Music and Beginning Band program will be Thursday night at 6:00. Students that are participating need to be at the school at 5:40. Admission to the Music and Band program is free, but donations of items for our backpack program are greatly appreciated. Items requested include: canned pasta, ramen noodles, individual mac and cheese bowls, pop tarts, granola bars, oatmeal, cereal, crackers, fruit cups and applesauce, peanut butter, gummies, canned chicken or tuna, and Vienna sausages. We also currently have a building wide food drive competition between classes. This food will be used in holiday food boxes for our community. The class collecting the most food will win a pizza party in the cafeteria on Friday, December 15th! The list of food for each class is attached below. Don’t forget that next week we have class parties on Monday at 9:00 and awards are Tuesday at 8:00. We will have early dismissal at 1:00 both days. Parents and Guardians, Our senior high football team will be traveling to Camden on Friday for the second round of high school play offs. For this reason, school will be dismissed at 1:00 on the Tyronza Campus. Our school Thanksgiving meal will still be on Friday, November 16th but with adjusted times. All classes will eat 30 minutes earlier than the schedule previously sent home. Tyronza Elementary’s Fall Festival is this Thursday evening and we will be doing Bingo again this year. Currently we are looking for any donations of items that are in good or new condition to be used as Bingo prizes. Our Bingo game brings in a large crowd, so the more we have to provide as prizes, the more games we will be able to do. The Tyronza Elementary PTO will hold its annual Fall Festival on Thursday, October 26th. The costume contest for Tyronza Elementary students will begin at 5:30. The festival will start immediately after the contest. The PTO is accepting donations of 2 liter drinks and baked goods for the cake walk. Students may also wish to submit an entry in the pumpkin decorating contest. All fully decorated pumpkins must be sent to school the morning of October 26th. Finally, all students are selling raffle tickets on an Apple Watch. All proceeds from the raffle will stay in your child's classroom. It's contest time! Starting this coming Monday, October 23rd, Tyronza Elementary classes will compete against each other to see which class has the most students choosing to eat a school lunch in the cafeteria. The class with the highest percentage of students selecting to eat a school lunch will win the opportunity to "Make Your Own Pizza" on pizza day! Students will be allowed to pick from a variety of toppings and make their own special personal pizza for lunch that day! The contest will run through November 3rd, so let’s try to eat in the cafeteria every day to win that special experience for your class!
Next week, Lepanto Elementary and Tyronza Elementary will both celebrate Red Ribbon Week! To bring awareness to the cause, we will dress up each day and hope everyone will participate in the fun! The Poinsett County Road Department will be collecting items to be delivered to the Hurricane Harvey flood victims in Texas. Tyronza Elementary will serve as a drop off location for non-perishable food items and bottled water. Please drop off items anytime between 8:00 and 3:00 through September 1st (this Friday). Items may also be taken to the Poinsett County Shop, 704 N. East Street in Harrisburg. Please call the elementary office or 870-578-4470 with any questions.
A parent and student meeting for those interested in joining beginning band will be held tonight, Thursday, August 24th, at 6:00 PM in the EPC high school band room. A representative of a reputable music store will be present and it will be possible to rent a musical instrument very reasonably on a trial rental plan. If you are interested in enrolling your child, we urge your attendance at this meeting as classes on the instruments will begin the following class day. Tomorrow, May 2nd, the 4th-6th grade students will be watching the Annual Staff yearly play. The cost is $2 per student. Lepanto residents should stay and eat breakfast at the cafeteria in Lepanto. They will remain in the cafeteria for the play. Tyronza residents will ride the bus to Lepanto which will be leaving at 8:00. All students will return to Tyronza when the play is over.

Students in grades 3-6 begin ACT Aspire testing this week! Testing begins on Monday, April 24th and will finish up on Friday, April 28th. Iowa testing starts tomorrow on the Tyronza campus for grades 1st and 2nd. Testing will be every day and end on Friday. We ask that your child come to school well rested, and to have ate breakfast before school or when they get to school. Registration for Pre-K is tomorrow! Lepanto Elementary students will register 8:30-12:30 and the registration for Tyronza Elementary is 11:00-3:00. All required documents and paperwork must be completed before a child may be accepted into Pre-k.

Also, our Student Council will be selling Val-o-grams for students to send to friends. The Val-o-gram will be a small box of chocolate. The cost is $2.00 per Val-o-gram. Finally, this Friday, February 10th, the Student Council will host a "Sweetheart Dance" at the gym from 6:00-7:30. Admission is $3 per person or $5 per couple. Snacks and drinks will be available for $1 each. We appreciate all of your support in making our school great!
